Coaching
Many coaching programs teach their craft: their art grounded in their experience. The assumption is that what made them successful will also make you successful. Many of these coaches are craftspeople: art grounded in experience. Most coaches share their art - what made them successful. The problem is that what makes them successful is closely tied to who they are, their personal charisma, their product technical knowledge, their sales skills. The problem is some of those qualities are not transferable.
It limits what we can learn because it is grounded in experience which is often not transferable. Science is the measurement of cause and effect relationships in the natural world. We will not agree on the art, but we can agree on the dimensions of the frame. Science brings the capacity to measure.
Engineering is art grounded in science. An engineer building a bridge has to understand the laws of science and has to understand the topography. At the Covenant Group, we are design engineers. We work with our clients to design a business that is uniquely suited to them. The mantra today is you have to do it yourself and you can’t do it alone.
Building a successful and sustainable business involves a lot of complexity and it makes a lot of difference when you have someone guiding you along the way. The best athletes have coaches. What makes us sustainable is we have been coaching for five decades and have had success at every level. With start-ups and with fortune 500 companies we have already applied rigour. We have combined art and science.
