Advanced Development Program

The Covenant Group’s Advanced Business Development Program helps business owners and executives enhance their effectiveness. For many entrepreneurs and executives, building a high-performance team can be a serious challenge. We work with you to apply the dynamics and mechanics to create a highly productive working environment. To do so, you must focus on three factors: 

  1. Effectiveness – Doing the right things to support the implementation of your strategy. Leadership is central to effectiveness. The growth of your business depends on your capability to set a direction and coordinate the actions of others in implementing it.
  2. Efficiency – Doing things right in order to be the most productive with the minimum of waste or effort. As a manager, one has to hold staff accountable for working efficiently. Marketing, sales and service initiatives need to progress in parallel and the right systems and processes need to be in place to meet client expectations.
  3. Trust – Creating a positive work environment to support and build trust amongst your team. Done right, this trust will radiate out to your clientele. If your people feel respected – looked at and seen for who they are – they will give you all the capability they have. 

This program helps to move from knowing to doing and will solve the specific and unique challenges to growing your advisory business. The intent is to establish a growth plan that is sustainable and highly profitable. An important aspect of The Covenant Group’s role is to hold you accountable for the activities and results we establish. 

The Process

The Advanced Business Development Program (ABDP) consists of:

  • One-hour Opportunity Analyzer (OA) interview
  • One-hour Coaching Session to define your business
  • One-day intensive consulting session (or 2 hlaf-day sessions, if more appropriate 
  • Monthly one-on-one follow-up coaching sessions
  • Coach on the Go performance platform (our online management system) 

Overview

Prior to the one-day consulting session, you will complete the OA. It is important to understand your current business strategy and the objectives for the future. This allows your Strategy Consultant to personalize the agenda for the 1-day session.

During your 1-day session, you will work with a Strategy Consultant to review, modify and refine your business plan to ensure it supports your business objectives. You will be challenged to ensure your strategies are robust, appropriate and can be implemented in a realistic and timely manner. We will assist you in mapping out your business, marketing, sales and service strategies and plans at a level of granularity that allows for easy implementation.

Using The Covenant Group’s ROA ProcessTM you will document in detail your personal Responsibilities, Objectives and Activities that support your business plan, thereby creating an implementation roadmap for the upcoming year and beyond. You will learn to use this process with your staff, ensuring their objectives and activities are aligned with your plan.

A Strategy Consultant will provide a follow-up coaching session after your 1-day consulting session to support you in implementing your plans.
